[Home] [Purse] [Applique] [ Sweatshirts] [Machine Embroidery] [Woolfelts] [Penny Rugs] [Dolls] [Order]

Nostalgic of the past, the "Penny Rugs" have been around since the Civil War era when coins were used as patterns for the more traditional rugs.  Using perle cotton, the appliques are sewn on using the blanket stitch, also known as the buttonhole stitch.  All of the rugs are completely sewn by hand. Although they are called "Penny Rugs", they are used as wallhangings, pillow fronts, table runners, and even purses.  We use many rich colors of woolfelt that is very easy to work with and looks beautiful.  These kits come with woolfelt already done with the soak and dry method and ready to use. It's like painting with fabric !!

We are very excited about our new line and will be coming out with many new patterns and kits, so please check back with us often.
