The"Rosina "
I love this coat! Okay you have the option to use 2 or 3 sweatshirts to
get the length. I really think the coat looks great as a maxi or just
duster length. The roses along the bottoms of the center front flaps and
back and even the sleeves can be appliqued or needle felted. This is
really a personal preference. I used hand embroidered vines with rose
buds to intertwine. The pink and brown polka dot fabric is very easy to
come by and stripped would have worked as well. The lace is 3 1/2" wide
and I had to dye it several times to get that color. I used pendleton's
brown plaid flannel (wool ) remnants. And the icing on the cake the
belt closures from my local thrift shop. |

#129 The "Flower Garden" This pattern is wonderful whether you applique or needle felt it or both. There is a lot going on here that the camera did not pick up very well, such as hand embroidery, needle felting, glass beads. The jacket is beautiful very much a garden of colors and sewing mediums.

#131 The"Great Outdoors" |
Well, this is a very
interesting jacket, another leftover project. the pendleton wool was a
remnant, the trees appliqued on back are left over sweatshirt pieces,
the trim are left over waistbands from the jeans that we used the
pockets off of and of course the pockets are being used here as well.
The pockets were needle felted and the closures are the buttons and
button holes from the jeans, and of course built on top of a sweatshirt.
This is a really neat looking jacket, and simple to make. |
