We use 20% wool-80% rayon blends or 35% wool- 65% rayon blends in our designs.
Woolfelts are all the rage these days. With all of the beautiful colors and the ease of sewing,the custom felted wool rayon makes beautiful tailored fashons, appliqued jackets, shirts to quilts and hooked rugs plus so much more. We just love them and we will introduce new colors as they are manufactured.
35/65 blend - the best fabric! not only for crafts and hand applique, but now for Tailored Fashions, our fabric presses well, does not need interlining, or lining, wonderful colors, you can finish the hems or not. It sews like a dream! Our 35/65 blend is $13.75 per yard and comes felted for you! Shipping is $2.50 per yard. (we do combined shipping)
All of the woolfelts we carry are felted for you and ready to use. We do that by running the colors separately through the wash; no soap and warm water, then dried completely in a really hot dryer. The hotter the dryer, the more texture created. Commercial dryers get really hot if you are looking for very textured woolfelts. After felting, the appliqued jackets, shirts, etc. are now machine washable. (The barnyard red we carry does run if you are felting it yourself; add Retayne to the wash and very hot water. You can also set the color with vinegar in the rinse cycle.)
Care of garments: Wash in cold water, gentle cycle, tumble dry low or medium heat.
We sell in 1/8 yard, 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard and 1 yard pieces and mini bundles.
