Our first swing jacket made with 2 sweatshirts, using authentic pigment style 1941 in sky color, top of jacket with the smaller size and then larger size shirt for bottom to create the pleat in the back and give it the swing. Appliqued with white daisies the centers can be appliqued, needle felted, or put in a button. The bag can be a handbag or backpack style using the leftover sweatshirt pieces (the bag is lined).
Materials Needed:
1 smaller sweatshirt of top (1941 or 1975)
1 larger sweatshirt for bottom (1941 or 1975)
¼ yd. White wool felt
2yds. Fabric-for trim and bag
6 large button covers
Perle cotton: #5 density of green, yellow, white
Embroidery needles
Small yellow buttons optional
Yellow roving (optional)
Magnetic closure for bag
